Barcelona lies on a plateau between the sea and a mountain range, which limits the urban area out to the country. This level tapers towards the south west, at the end there is the small town of Castelldefels. The ridge occurs in the sea. The cliff reaches as far as Sitges.
In addition to a typical village, Castelldefels has an about 6km  ong sandy beach, to which flatter building dominates.

The situation on the beach, close proximity to Barcelona and the rural atmosphere make Castelldefels become a popular tourist destination. You are with the train in about 30 minutes at the main station Sants of Barcelona without subject to change.
The beach is not as full as in Barcelona and the construction of beach is separated to the city by a coastal road . That means there are several hotels directly on the beach.

The city is towered over by a castle, you also find a number of smaller churches and medieval towers as monuments.

Getting to Castelldefels

By train you go quite simply from Sants, the main railway station in Barcelona, to Castelldefells. The trip takes about 25 minutes. Tickets can be obtained directly from the machine. At the station itself you have direct access to metro.

With the three bus lines to Castelldefels.
The bus lines L94 and L95 bus ride from the Plaça Catalunya to Castelldefels. The L94 in the direction to Sitges only from 14 June -31 August.
The L95 also has a bar traffic from the Plaça Reina Maria Cristina.

From the El Prat airport
Castelldefels is located about 15 km from the international airport El Prat Barcelona. The easiest way is to get here by train. It is the same as described above. This makes a stopover at the airport.
A taxi from the airport to Castelldefels cost around € 20, depending on traffic.

By car
You get to Castelldefels on the highway C32, both from the south as well as from the northern direction. Take exit 46 "Castelldefels center" or exit 44 "Castelldefels South / beach". You can switch from Barcelona and the airport from the Autovia C31 and the exits Canal Olímpico, or Casteldefells centro or Castelldefels playas (beach).
