Especially the church holidays are of high significance. On the 1st of January and the 25th of December (and often on the 6th of January), most shops and museums are closed.

Shops are closed on holidays. Museums and other attractions are usually open (except see above). If the public holiday is on the closing day of the museum or other attraction, it is then generally open.
