Barceloneta is the smallest quarter of Barcelona and is part of a triangle between the Old town, the Port Vell, the old port, and the Platja de Barceloneta. North of the zoo is the limit of this district.
Lots of restaurants are close to the marina, at the brick house where today the Museu d'Historia de Catalunya is, the Museum of the History of Catalonia.
Barceloneta was created as housing for the residents, who have lost their home because of the construction of the citadel in 1753. Today, barceloneta is very popular because of the beach promenade, its many restaurants and its very special atmosphere on the streets.
More information about the former fishermen's quarter can be found on our side of Barceloneta.

You like like fish and seafood, then you are just right in Barceloneta. The district lies between the marina and the beach.

Traditional Mediterranean cuisine is predominant in the district of Barceloneta. Usually you have a great view of the harbor, the old town, the sea or the beach.

The menus at Torre d'Altamar are not really cheap, but you have a breath-taking panoramic view at 75 metres.

Even trendy places like the Red Lounge can be found in Barceloneta.
