Less noteworthy museums, but still interesting

In Barcelona you will find many great, major museums, which are certainly a "must" for a visit to Barcelona. But many smaller museums also present their exhibits here. These museums often deal with topics that are generally of specialist interest, and are well worth a visit if you are particularly interested in one of these topics.

Museu de la Música - history of music

Museu de la Música - history of music

The Music Museum is a very exciting and contemporarily designed exhibition. Music is viewed here from different vantage points: the origin of music, the development from single-tone instruments to polyphonic music instruments, development of polyphonic music instruments, new baroque harmonies, large keyboard instruments, individualism in the Romantic period, and the music industry from the 19th Century onward. Furthermore a large area is dedicated to music from different cultures. In a separate room, you can also try out different musical instruments and even experimenting with the pitch.

Museu de l'Erotica - history of erotic art

Topics include sexuality in the ancient cultures of the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians, the Far East, in Europe erotic illustrations, eroticism in India, sadomasochism, erotic literature, and contemporary erotic art and comics.
