Shrimp in garlic oil - Healthy and easy to make tapas

This tapa can be cooked very quickly and with little effort. The abundant use of garlic is very healthy.

Ingredients for 4 servings

  • 500 g shrimp (prawns) (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 chili peppers
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 150 ml olive oil
  • Salt and pepper


Peel the garlic into quarters.

If you have fresh prawns, remove the peel and remove the insides.
Wash and core the peppers. Cut into thin rings. Caution: do not rub your hands in your eyes; it burns even when you have washed your hands.

Heat the oil in a frying pan. Use pre-cooked frozen prawns, add just the chili peppers and garlic for two minutes at medium heat, cook in oil and then add the prawns and cook for another 1-2 minutes. The prawns just need to be heated. If the prawns are heated too long, they can become tough.

You can use fresh prawns; all ingredients are simultaneously added to the oil for cooking. Cook for 2-3 minutes in hot oil.

Serve the prawns immediately in a bowl.

Preparation time: 15-20 minutes.
